Description

Approximately 95% of Egyptians inhabit 5% of Egypt’s land along the Nile. The strategy of urban expansion away from the Nile valley has shifted many times in attempts to give the desert new life or simply create settlements to absorb the country’s rapid population growth. How did our quest for expanding into the desert drive the new urban growth paradigm?

Emergency Exit delves into how our cities have grown over the past few decades in a national quest for modernity.
